Shadow Casters Present check to Firefighters.

LUSHMEADOEWS, CA – Members of the Sierra Shadow Casters Motorcycle Club (SSC, MC) presented a check for $4142.00 to Harve Dearing, Mariposa Battalion Chief and other members of the volunteer fire dept. on Saturday Sept. 23 at Lush Meadows station 29.

The SSC hosted the Sierra Moonshine Poker Run fundraiser attended by Motorcyclists and non-riding members of the general public at the Mariposa Fairgrounds on Sept 9th where participants enjoyed a BBQ lunch and purchased tickets for dozens of raffle prizes and bid on multiple silent auction items.

SSC PIO officer Paul Hall called the event a “nice success, considering the volunteer’s piggy bank was completely empty after all of the summer fires.” Adding “Anything we were able to raise was a 100 percent increase over what was available before the event.”

The event was sponsored by Sierra Telephone and supported by scores of local businesses. Chief Dearing expressed his sincere appreciation to the Mariposa and Oakhurst communities for their generous support of the volunteer firefighters.

BOOTJACK, CA – Saturday Aug 7, 2017 Members of The Sierra Shadow Casters Motorcycle Club (SSCMC) were honored to make a modest donation of $1000.00 to the Mariposa Community Foundation (MCF). The MCF is a philanthropic organization that assists various Mariposa community projects including aid to the Fire victims. The funds presented by the SSC were raised by the generous contributions of the biker community and foothill residents that supported the SSC’s Sierra Memorial Run last June. The monies raised at that event were slated to help needy children in the mountain area. When the Detwiler fire hit Mariposa in July it was unanimously agreed by the SSC membership that a donation should be made to specifically help families with Children who lost their homes in the tragedy.

The presentation was made at the Fire Relief Center which is being housed in the New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Bootjack. The church gymnasium is stocked to the brim with clothing, personal hygiene items, food and housewares all donated by members of the community.
